A partnership that has gone beyond the congress sphere and pushed the boundaries of design.

MediaTek is a global technology giant, with offices across the world and a product that powers many of the products and brands we use every day.

But that has presented some challenges over the years. Their hero product – a tiny chipset that provides the processing capabilities for numerous other devices – is unseen, invisible to its everyday consumer and only fully understood by people who are ‘in the know’ in the consumer electronics industry.

Because of this, their booths at live events focus on product demos, to show exactly what the chipset can do and that’s a lot of demos to fit into their spaces.

Our longstanding relationship has allowed us to approach their events not as single projects, but as an overarching partnership that has grown beyond the scope of any single brief.

Taking a more holistic look to their congress presence has allowed us to propose branding and campaign ideas that not only give their events a sense of continuity, but help to unite the work of the US and Taiwan offices under one, overarching look and feel.

This has been instrumental in bringing cohesion to each of their physical spaces, with multiple demo areas brought together by a single, recognisable graphical thread.

The MediaTek chipset is never seen by consumers, but it is the powerhouse behind most of their favourite devices.

To communicate the capacity and necessity of the chipset, we came up with the ‘Billions’ campaign, which helped us to showcase all of the life and potential that’s unleashed by the chipset. It helped to emphasise not what the product is, but what it does. What started as a simple key visual became a recognisable centrepiece for numerous, global events, in multiple different countries, such as Mobile World Congress (MWC) and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

At both of these shows, delegate traffic has heavily informed the layout of the spaces, allowing all of the demos to be seen and explored from all angles. This, coupled with a striking, industrial aesthetic, has made MediaTek’s booths stand out from the crowd since 2017 in the busy trade show marketing landscape.
