It’s an age-old saying: teamwork makes the dream work. But when the entire framework of your business has to adapt in the space of a month, a flexible creative mindset and an incredible team are crucial.

Design in a changing world

We didn’t realise it, but​ our work philosophy​ has been more ​instrumental ​than ever ​over the last year​. ​First and foremost, we are designers. To us, that means applying creative thinking to problems and coming up with the best solutions possible, rather than the technical skill itself – because of that, we’ve been able to adapt very quickly to new environments and challenges.

Even before the pandemic we were investing in diverse areas of innovation so we could give our clients the most comprehensive solutions, and that has given us a great foundation for keeping our work fresh and relevant, even
in these unexpected circumstances

Adaptable creativity

Our team has also been crucial in helping to get the company through a very hard year. ​You only find out ​how​​ strong your team is​​ when they’re hit with adversity​ and continue to push​, to innovate and come up with amazing ideas, even outside the conventional boundaries of the job.

Optimism through adversity

Right from the beginning of the pandemic we knew we were going to have a tough time. Our business relies on travel and large gatherings of people interacting at close quarters, and naturally the events industry has been hit harder than most. It’s been hard, of course, but there have also been new opportunities to try new things and adapt our offering in a way we might not have done before.

We’ve been adding digital and interactive elements to our congress strategy for years, which is why we were pretty quick to pivot and provide effective digital events tools for our clients. Because of this, we’ve – amazingly – been able to hire new team members to fulfil these changing needs. New skills and fresh eyes have been instrumental to keeping our ideas innovative and the team motivation high, and we can’t wait to see what opportunities our newly expanded, in-house tech capabilities will bring. It might sound cheesy, but I truly believe that when you have the right people around you, you can achieve anything.
