"On a walk across London
SOHO: a man wakes up and stretches his lazy body in a bed at Hotel President in the centre of London. The body is sore from a very long walk the day before but when I realise it's my body I swing my legs around the bed. Because I'm on a mission, a walk from west London to east London, through the International Metropolis to meet fortune hunters from all over the world and try to gain an insight on what the city creates, how it excites and who it attracts.

The First Stop: Clerkenwell
After an hour walking in dense traffic filled streets I ring the bell at a door in Clerkenwell – the area that has been hailed as London's equivalent to the Silicon Valley. But where Silicon Valley is all about being a centre for I.T, Clerkenwell is filled with creative firms. As soon as the door has opened I get a foretaste: The former industrial building inside is remodelled to bright office spaces with raw walls and exposes beams in the ceiling and in the courtyard young creatives with expensive watches, stylish belts and worn jeans, hold outdoors meetings in the sun on bespoke benches that almost float in air. This chic office building hold everything from a new promising multimedia firm, an architecture firm with specialty in designing parks to the Event agency MCCGLC, who arranges and designs conferences for companies such as Panasonic and Price Waterhouse Cooper all over the world: Las Vegas, Shanghai, Berlin, Sydney, Seoul, Barcelona to name a few.

Italian Matteo Console Camprini founded MCCGLC with his Italian partner Gian Luca Corradi over fifteen years ago. The Agency closed it's Milan office last year to move to London.
Why? - "Come down to the street and I'll show you something cool so you'll understand it." It sounds fresh from the Italian Director who's dressed casual in jeans, T-short and New Balance sneakers. After a few minutes walk filled with chic pubs, design firms and architects offices we arrive to "Look mum no hands" - a wry place which is a cross between a bicycle workshop and coffeehouse. On the wall retro bikes are hanging and out back is were you can get your bicycle patched up whilst you eat, the scent of coffee mixed with chain oil is hypnotic and the tables are crowded with young people from all around the world, just like in the building where MCCGLC is housed. And then he gets to his point.
"This place is cool and creative and this is the essence of our firm and our way of working. It's completely crucial that the firm is positioned in the right environment ,so that we can attract the right people with the right qualifications. They will work in a great place where they can get inspiration and feel comfortable." Matteo Console Camprini says and goes on to say that moving the office from Milan to London was also a question of language knowledge.
"We are an international agency and we have customers all over the world. Our employees needs to speak fluently english. But went we put out a position in Milan and 200 applied and only ten spoke english; when putting out a position in London, 800 applicants reply and 799 speak fluent English. So now we are employing people based on their abilities - not on their language skills."."
