Design is in the blood with Stuart, and you can see the fire of invention in his eye equally when he talks about a recent and ambitious suspension project, as when he tells me of the furniture creations he labours with at home. Booths grow in scale in symmetry with our ambitions, and the question becomes ‒ how do we engineer these unique structures, have them seem organic, and stable? You can see this question is one that excites him, and that he returns to in every technical or structural challenge that he faces. He is known for his distinctive, contemporary 3D style, and is always a man to have to hand during the conceptual phase. He is driven by the engaging possibility of a defined volume of space. The blank canvas that can be filled with anything you can imagine. Even to the acknowledgement that once the event has passed, Stuart keeps a keen eye to the reusability and value for a client.
